Need opinions

I’ve been trying to get some history on my M887 and while doing so I began to slowly remove layers of paint. Does anyone have an idea or give a guess as to what the unit marking might be? I’ve just started to work on the bumper number (front left for units I was in. I also found a number in the middle - D0037. I’d appreciate any guesses as to what it means.

Usually I can make sense of these markings but not this time. Keep sanding.
