new injection pump, wont stay running

Just installed new injection pump and new injectors. Now it won't run at all. It will start, idle rough and pour white smoke out the exhaust, then will stall. I've tried over and over and it won't idle smooth and stay running. I also installed a spin fuel filter and electric fuel pump. What's the correct way to prime the fuel system with these changes?

The electric fuel pump should do most of the priming. Loosen some injector fittings and crank, let it rest, crank again.

White smoke indicates too little fuel getting to the cylinders.

Return line plugged? If the return port can't flow freely on a DB2 they will do exactly what you're saying.

I think I might have figured it out. When I installed everything, I forgot to install the fuel return hose. When I first started it up it ran fine for about 2 minutes then shut off. I realized my mistake with the fuel return hose after this. I installed the fuel return hose but it would start up, then idle rough and shut off. I thought the electric pump would purge all the air out of the system, but I guess I need to crack open some fuel injection lines and go from there? Does this sound right?

I loosened all the injector lines and attempted to.start it. I could hear the starter engage, but the motor would not turn over. I though I killed the batteries so I charged them up and it still did the same thing. My guess is I killed the Chinese dbelectric starter yesterday. Also, is it possible that I sucked in that much air when I failed to install the fuel return hose when I installed my new pump? It ran fine for a couple of minutes before I realized that I forgot to install it. Then it died and hasn't started since.
