Greetings everyone!

I just got my new M998 home after auction! It's a beauty. And then I promptly broke the front passenger CV joint.

I see the boot is torn but is the physical case of the cv joint is busted? What happened?
I was driving a couple guys around the farm and misjudged the depth of a ditch. Quick drop and busted the case to the joint. Fixing stuff is the fastest way to learn about the vehicle. :-?

Welcome to the site and to the Green Disease. Replacement joints aren't usually too hard to find. Removal and installation is pretty straightforward. The TM's are here on the site. Recommend download and review, if you haven't already.

Thanks for the reply! I used to sell parts in another lifetime and rarely saw a busted cv joint casting. Torn boots, bad cage/balls, shaft sometimes pulled out.

I would recommend just getting a whole cv axle/shaft with both joints and be done with it.

;-) BTW, Welcome to the madness!
