Greetings from France folks.

I'm a 22yrs old Frenchie and i've been looking for a such board for a while.

I'm interested in Military Vehicles since my childhood, my uncle had a german Kubelwagen and there was a couple of Jeep Willys & Hotchkiss M201 fanatics around my town.

My main goal here is to find informations about the vehicles i like and to figure out which one would best fit my needs. I'm really thinking about purchasing an Austrian Pinzgauer (once i finish my studies), they're not that expensive in Europe & there is a decent community of drivers and specialists.

Bienvenue aux soldats en acier. De quelle région de la France êtes-vous ?
Poor translation, I used Babelfish for translation services.

Molsheim is like 200km (i believe it's around 130 miles) away from my town.
It's a great area, with it's typical local culture, homes & food (and the Bugatti factory of course!)

Welcome Heramoth. Hope you are able to obtain a military vehicle soon.
Pardon my stupidity if I have this wrong, but from what I see up on YouTube, I ask this question... are military vehicle collector groups as big as they seem, as in Britain and Germany? Just kind of curious.

I think they have bigger ex-military vehicles groups in the Uk, as far as i know.
In France the main military vehicles you can find in these groups are the good old Willys and the hotchkiss M201, some Dodge trucks sometimes but it's very rare to find something else like French Vehicles (some Peugeot P4).

There is also a Pinzgauer community in France which is growing since a few years now and with a couple of websites behind (ask me for the links), Pinzies are also well known for their offroading capacities and that's why they're pretty popular in the offroading & trial world.

Something really strange about the French law is that some military Vehicles can be considered as 2nd class weapons ("historical weapons & ammo") according to the weapons legislation but the interpretation of this law is kinda complex.

A tracked vehicule is really hard to get here because your 2nd class "weapon" has to be neutralized and for the law such vehicles are not fully "neutralizable" from some of their main functions. I guess it's the same thing for any armored & wheeled vehicle. (The Uk legislation is far better than the French one on this topic).
