New member here just north of Knoxville. Recently purchased a 1986 CUCV that needs some work. I don't have much experience wrenching on things, but I'm looking to learn as much as I can. I've been devouring all of the info I can find here and really looking forward to turning this truck into my offroad/work truck out on my property.

I'd definitely be interested in meeting any other members in the area, particularly those who might be able to help share some mechanic skills/knowledge with a newb such as myself.

Well, you don't have to know a lot. We host the TM's (Technical Manuals) for the CUCV including the Civilian books. AND, there are us - ask away - but at least try to look at the books...

Welcome aboard. I don't think you'll find a better bunch of guys than the ones helping out with CUCVs.

Definitely been reading through the TM's. Having those resources available was actually what steered me towards the CUCV as opposed to regular civvy chevy/GM truck from that era. That said, some parts of the TM's feel a bit like learning a new language!

Welcome aboard! Beautiful country down there!!! FANTASTIC people here.....patience is a virtue with CUCVs and so is attention to detail.....sold mine, but fond memories
