Got two new STA 10.50x16 tires mounted on the XM708 today. I like the diameter, width, and tread design, but I wish the lugs were deeper (only 19/32 inch.)
Tomorrow I'll mount the reproduction M13 lockouts and pull the rear drive shaft to repair the tube.

I'll drop the rear drive shaft tomorrow, so I can get the shaft tube repaired.
Monday will tow it a couple of hundred yards to the workshop to get it out of the weather (I hope the brake shoes aren't frozen to the drums).
Plan to mount the winch bumper next week, and also pull the rear wheels so I can refurbish the back rims.
I've got a new old stock winshield at my hangar. Need to bring it over to the shop, but no big hurry about that. I'll probably do the NOS steering wheel first.

I think my left front axle is broken, but haven't confirmed it yet.

Finally got around to climbing under the truck to remove the rear drive shaft. Turns out it just needs cleaning up and repainting.
Also a plus, the PTO has both a front and rear output, so it can drive both the winch and thehydraulic pump that lifts the bed. The rear jackshaft to the hydraulic pump is bent and needs to be replaced (no big deal).
On the downside, the hydrovac booster that drives the power brakes has a 50 cent sized hole broken out of the front. Will have figure out why and how to repair it.
