I am looking at a m35, its been sitting about 1 year, shows 20,000 miles. After starting it smoked white for a bit while it warmed up. Is this common? Is it a bad sign?. It was about 30 degres if that makes a differnce.
Thanks for any input.

Mine does that. It talks about it in the TM and several other places on here. Its fine, as long as it goes away when it warms up. Just cold cylinders. Check the oil and make sure theres no water mixed in with it (blown head gasket).

Welcome Blacktop! Yes, that is somewhat normal if it's been sitting for a while, as long as the smoke isn't like a thick acrid smoke screen (see WM's engine post!). The condition is called "wet stacking"...google that term and you'll see what it is.

Give it a good hard run...100 miles or so at highway speed....it'll clear out and run clean.

Is this a turbo truck or an NA truck? If NA, the do tend to be a little more smoky than the turbo ones...but a turbo is easy to add later if you want....

Thanks for the replies, it is a turbo truck and has been sitting for a bit. I will try to post any progress. It was -40 2 weeks ago here (not including wing chill) and we have record snow fall. If everything works out the new deuce will be sporting a snow plow.
