new USMC M-100 jeep trailer in the stable

Had AMGeneral bring this up to me on Saturday, it's a M100 jeep trailer. Pretty nice condition, there was a panel replaced up front that could use a little cleaning up, and a little rust on the front bottom of that panel. Everything else is straight, minor stuff that I can easily handle, missing parts that are readily available elsewhere. Towed great at 70 mph all the way home from Southern VA.

Of note is the front and rear tiedown points that are USMC mods to this trailer. They are more common on M416B1 trailers used by the M422 Mighty Mite, and the newer M762 trailers. I have never seen them on a M100. Does anyone have any more information on this variant?

I am going to rebuild this one right, getting a welder so I can do all the small holes correctly. Gonna put new shocks, springs, shackles, wiring, tires, etc on this thing, get it looking like the USMC M416B1 trailer I have a picture of on this end.

Check over on G503 in their 1/4 ton trailer forum. Saw a thread about the USMC tie downs on a post there 'some time ago'.

I'm doing a 416 to 416B1 conversion right now. You have to change the hubs out in order to fit the Mighty Mite rims. That means, you need hubs from a 416B1. The hubs are thicker and the center hole is bigger than the M151 rims.

Well, didn't want to do it, but in order to better fund the building of the gun truck project, I will soon be listing the M100 in the classifieds. Loved using it going back and forth to the junkyard and picking stuff up, but the money will better be used to help fund the armor and/or guns for the M37.

That's nicer than 99% of the unrestored M100's I've ever seen.
