Noisy Braking

My M35A2 is posing a problem. When I brake I hear an iregular rattling and banging (no, not "banging;" I don't know how to describe it) noise right over my right shoulder, just behind the cabin, and down, close to where the transfer case is. Two of the three mounts on the tx case are slightly loose but I doubt that to be the source. The harder you brake the louder the clatter. I know that noise can be referred; it's origin actually a place you dont expect. But the brakes are good and with the exception of a rear front drive shaft u-joint that needs replacement, it is a strong vehicle. I have hubs, anyway, and they are unlocked. ASB air lockers all 3 axels and lots of beef added in prep for an Australian trip next year. But I believe this is a simple problem unrelated to any of the add ons. Does a bad air pack make such a horrible racket when braking? It is slowly but progressively worsening.

Sincerely,

Gary
