Older GM trucks in military?

They were known as a 5/4 ton. Chevrolet K30 series trucks very heavily beefed up. They had a 350 4 bolt engine with a 4 barrel Quadra-Jet carb. If my memory is correct, there was a Dana 60 in the rear and it was full time 4 wheel drive.

Could be wrong but I seem to recall they were used on U.K. bases at that period, and even later. Certainly the multifuels were. In fact my 530C came off a base in the eighties!.

No, "off the shelf" GM trucks were used in the 80's, the 70's "off the shelf" trucks for the US were the M880's
