Paint peeling off under my M925A0 bed...

So, I started my 1986 M925A0 after a 4 year "nap" (had to slave it off from my M1031 CUCV truck - bad batteries...).

Have my M1082 trailer sold, so hitched up to pressure wash it and my 5 ton.

Upon pressure washing the 5 ton, I notice several areas of peeling paint under the bed (outside CARC holding up pretty well).

It appears that there was a black primer applied, then 383 green after that. Not rust where the paint peeled, but looks like bad adhesion...

This truck was never "reset" and was owned by a farmer in Indiana who carried a large, round water tank in the bed for his large farm.

Anyone else seen or had this problem?

The photos are of the right side bed - rear to about the middle (above the rear axles).Resized_20241225_120613_1735169438706.jpegResized_20241225_120622_1735169436732.jpegResized_20241225_120629_1735169435365.jpegResized_20241225_120641_1735169421847.jpegResized_20241225_120654_1735169420507.jpeg

Thanks for the replies guys and the prep tip fuzzytoaster!

I "feel" a little bit better knowing I'm not the only one with paint peeling, but annoys me I have "extra" work to do when I get around to re-painting my truck...
