Ok- $3/ mile for 300 miles. If I get no nibbles, I'll just drive them back like y'all say. I'm feeling more comfortable now that I have some seat time in the M931.

Get 'er done !

I know in this part of the woods you can expect around $4 a loaded mile for equipment/trucks on a lowboy or step deck. Unless you get someone running home with an empty trailer. It may seem expensive, but just one bad run in with ol' murphy and it will seem a lot cheaper.

Thanks, Spartacus.

I figured it'd be better to get $900 than to run with a folded tarp. I'm in no big hurry. I thought I'd try here, hoping to help-out some fellow SS'ers, but get nothing but the run-around. Everybody must be doin just fine in this economy.

I have a real good lead on a nice used 53'x102" Fontaine that I might scoop once my buddy inspects it for me- good arch, no corrosion or cracks and 80% tires. He's got a road tractor and would drive them for me for fuel cost if I lend him my trailer once in awhile.

here is a great link for loading dock design, if anybody wants to build one.
