The NW Chapter of the Gamewardens of Vietnam will be hosting an open house at the Rat's Nest on 25 MAR 2017. From 1000 to 1400. Location is 123 Habein Rd. Chehalis, WA 98531.
The Rat's Nest, home of the Gamewardens is a working Museum where two Patrol River Boat (PBR) are housed and maintained. Both boats are currently under maintenance and repair for the upcoming display season.
Current upcoming events include the Bremerton Armed Forces Day Parade and the Rose Festival in Portland, where they will have one boat on the water. Rides are available with membership.

If you would like to help, give a hand with maintenance and repair, or donate to help in restoration on these vessels, come and check out the Open House for more details. The OP Boat is currently undergoing sanding on the hull in preparation for new bottom paint. The J boat just underwent painting of the interior of the hull, thanks to the IUPAT (Painters) Apprenticeship Program in Seattle. Come spend a day with some neat people that have been there and done that.

this one is coming up too! Come out and check out the repair and restoration work. Trailer has been prepped and painted Navy gray. 2 inch builders foam was put on the bunks of the trailer to protect the new bottom paint on the hull. Electrical work is progressing on PBR two, we need some engine work to the Detroits and one of the guys has offered to come in with his wrecker and help set engines and pumps. 750 above is the last PBR on the Navy registry and the J boat is the last PBR purchased by the Army. Come check them out and meet some of the men that used these boats in Vietnam.

Thank you to those that were able to attend. There is usually a work party on the 3rd Saturday if you would like to volunteer.

Next event for the PBR will be Armed Forces Day parade in Bremerton on 20 MAY. There will also be a small military boat display at the Naval museum in downtown Bremerton. Situation for the PBR is in doubt for that, but they will have Coast Guard, Navy and a few other small boats on display.
