Trying to do some research on these tires any information is welcome.
Can be purchased NEW! For around $1,000 each.
Does anyone know of someone that has used them with our wheels with the bead lock ring. Can’t find any technical information on them like bead thickness tread depth?

I just saw those the other day myself at SimpleTire. Wondering the same—

The tires I'm most interested in are the Continental HCS. Seems the folks running them on overland vehicles really like them. I personally have had really good luck with the Conti MPT 81's in 335/80 R20 on my Ram. I'm on my 4th set and haven't ever gotten an out of round tire. The HCS's are available on the surplus market as well.

Another affordable tire is the Pirelli Pista PS22, but I have a buddy who owns a logging company and tried them and said the are flat scary in winter conditions so I have avoided them.

The Continentals don't appear to be available for our 20" wheels: 22.5 or 24—

Right. Continental Tires does not list any current 20" tires. I would be nice to find affordable new rubber—
You can get MPT81’s in 395/80 R20 new from expedition imports. Great tires in every respect accept tread life. Supposedly there is a new version coming with a new rubber compound that supposedly improves tread life by 30%.

Just checked their site, looks like no 395's currently.

You’re AWESOME. I’ve looking everywhere for that information.
Very similar to the Michelin XZL.
Honestly when I drove on the XZL’s they start with the most tread and wore the best meaning the least tread wear.
I’ve tested both Michelins and good years and monitored the tread wear and the XZL’s were the best.
But now having eco hubs I find myself cruising at 60 way more often and down hill hitting 65 sometimes are my top speeds.
Also noted that the Michelins did not hold gravel nearly as bad as the good years they are terrible at picking up gravel stones then letting go at 55mph making stone chips.

Yes the XZL’s are the ones I liked most. Also comes with an extra 7/32 of tread similar to the Petlas.
I was getting approximately 10% tread wear every 5,000 miles with the XZL and 15% tread wear every 5,000 miles with the Goodyear and XZL+.

Currently on my Goodyears I’m averaging about 1/32 per 1,500-2,000 miles.

Where did you find that data on the Petlas? Still curious about the bead thickness, if it matches the Michelin and Goodyear?

I thought the Michelins were the tire everyone wants to avoid due to frequent blowouts? Is that a different Michelin?
Most of the blowouts are due to age. The XML’s are what came on the old original trucks from Stewart & Stevenson and those were the first trucks going up for auction and people driving on old tires.
