I would like to install a combo ball/pintel hitch on my 1008. Do they make them with the shaft and nut like what is on the truck now? If not would the 4 bolt holes line up with 4 holes on bumper?

I think it depends on where you get them. If you get them from some place like Harbor Freight or Northern Tool you can get them with different bolt hole patterns. That's the main reason I didn't buy one of the adapter plates on line. If you can get one in your hand first measure it.

I've never seen a pivoting civilian pintle like the military ones........... wish somebody made one.

I've never seen the combination hitch with a swivel. I would think that it would pose a problem when using the ball hitch. Even if you do find one, I'd look for a solid mounted four bolt type.

That combination pintle ball thing is funky in the first place. A ball hitch can't swivel. It will roll over, if it does, and cause the ball hitch to fail.

There are lots of immitation replacement pintle hitches out there now, for cheap. They are cast. The good ones are forged - from somebody like Holland Hitch.

I've bought a few from Tractor Supply. They fit on 1009, 1008, and contact truck too. Just check the pintel rating to make sure you do not pick up one rated for too low a weight. They may be less expensive but they also do not hold as much weight.
