Very nice thank you
Try searching for Surge brake shock absorber:

If what you have is either a M101 or M116 (A2 & A3 models, only), then take a look at the attached parts diagram.
Or see it in TM 9-2330-202-14&P (Fig. 10, #28 ) 1844-2 NSN 2510-01-050-7136

FWIW, it should be PINTLE... I just fixed it.

Howdy,
If it is a newer,
M1101, M1102, LTT-TQG Surge brake assembly

Military part to civilian counterpart model Titan/Dico Model 6 hydraulic brake actuator.

All the parts for repairing and fixing.

Which surge brake assembly?
M101A2/3 or M1101/2?

Just saw a brand new military surplus brake assembly for the M1101/2 on eBay a few days ago.

Croft Trailer usually has the prices and have excellent customer service.
They do have the best price available for the M101A2/3 assembly’s shock.
Part number already mentioned in another thread.

The surge brakes are wonderful when properly maintained.
The M101A2/3 trailers were not very well maintained by the military and can be a bit pricey to bring back to life.
The surge shock being one of the most expensive items to replace.

Money well spent as these are great trailers.
Once you spend the $$ for new bearings, seals, shocks, brake parts, etc. it will last and perform for years before next major maintenance.

Hauled gravel in my tan M101A2 last week.
Just over a ton each trip.
Stopping was a dream with surge brakes.

You’ll be happy with Croft Trailer.

Was able to install new shock from Croft trailer, made all the difference in the world. This was on my 803A gen trailer, stops like a dream now. I've gone ahead and ordered 2 more form my 101A3 now that I completed this install. Found unbolting the slave cylinder gave enough play to put the unit back on. As always thanks for all the great input and references!!!

Happy Trailing!!!!!!!!!!!!:jumpin: [thumbzup]Bob
