I cleaned the gasket up real good, cleaned away any oil off of the mating surfaces and put a thin coat of RTV silicone on both sides of the gasket. Bolted the power steering pump with 2 bolts(both METRIC!) and let it dry. Took it for a quick spin, no leaks as of yet.

Did you ever get the tire leak fixed? If so how? Have the same problem with left rear tire.

I know this thread is 3 years old but I was wondering what happened with the smoking on startup issue?
