positve ground

im haveing charging issues with my m47 and was wondering if it is a positve ground system the battery cables the previous owner had on it are set up for positve ground

I had the same problem with an M37. Someone had reversed the battery cables. It would start and run but the gauges did not work and it did not charge. After switching the polarity of the battery cables, it ran the same but now the gauges worked. However, it still would not charge. I had the generator rebuilt and learned that there were some burned wires in the generator. After that, everything works fine. It apparently did no harm to the regulator. AND IT WOULD STILL RUN!!!
