All the way out you say? That was the big no no in the -34. Any idea why?
It's no big deal if you pull the pin all the way out and move the carrier out of alignment, just rotate the pinion gear until the spiders line up with the hole in the carrier. If you're careful pulling the axles nothing should move.

my gov lock clinks and clanks alot. I pulled the cover changed the oil found no pieces save a little scummy ness on the magnet. Someone at a local shop said he has heard em do that for a long time before they go...But i do have my eye on a set od duallies with 373's i can get the front and back for what a guy owes me. What do yu guys think, should I hurry up and close the deal? It clinks at power on and sometimes when going into drive or reverse.

Sounds like you're on borrowed time. I'd go for it, assuming you've already considered what's necessary for the swap.

Thanks for the help everyone by the way, I ended up calling my brother and with his help we got the bearings, seals, and brakes on the rear axle changed in a day. Ended up getting the brakes from O'Reilly since they only had one part number unlike NAPA, and it was the right one. The bearing I used was from NAPA though, they called it a repair bearing, where it was a bearing and seal all in one. R1559 was the part number. Working like a charm so far, no leaks!

Also, it's hard to find a loaner slide hammer with good claws. I ended up destroying both old bearings popping them out, good thing I planned on replacing them too.
