Rear end noise when turning

Over the winter I snapped the rear passenger side axle and got it all fixed up. Bought a kit from summit with a bearing, seal, shaft and new lugs and studs. Put about 800 miles on it since then.

Recently I've noticed a rubbing noise whenever I turn left and the harder I turn the louder the noise gets. I was thinking it may be the wheel bearing on that side. Read on a forum that it also may be an absence of diff additive but I'm not sure if I should run it with the g80 and didnt add any when I put everything back together.

I'm assuming this is on a m1009 being that's what is in your avatar! When the axle shaft broke did the brake backing plate get bent or damaged? This happens often and if it is even slightly bent in this will cause a rubbing/grinding noise! The axle shafts in a m1009 float back and forth slightly so when you turn the drum could be rubbing on the bent backing plate! Hope this helps and good luck!

Yes, M1009 and no bent bracket, put the truck up on jack stands and checked all the bearings but didn't find anything I thought to be a bad bearing. All I found was a bad caliper that needs replaced.

They do not require any special fluid, just 80w90.

Took the rear end apart last night. Turns out I had a bad seal and had sand and water get in when I was out wheeling. Wonderful
