Assuminig you are asking about the 800 series (like in your avatar), the TM 9-2320-260-34-1 states that there are three types of starters available for your truck.

From the TM 9-2320-272-24-2 it show the Tech Manual is

When I got my M923A1 the starter was not working. I took it off and just took it to a starter repair shop, $125 to repair it.
