On wet damp Thursday AM in Stillwater, Mn a group, from the Red Bull Historic Military Vehicle Association rallied for a Convoy to Thunder Bay, Ont. (5 day trip).

But as with all plans we had a few hiccups before even leaving. We lost an MB to a mechanical problem 4 miles from the start point. The vehicle was trailered off to White Bear Lake, Mn till we return.

We were suppose to leave at 0830 but hit the road around 0900 (kinda close). Departed with the following vehicles: MB; MB; Land Rover Ambulance; and a CUCV II.

Than just south of Marine on St Croix, Mn we lost our second MB. This was trailered back to Bloomington, Mn.

But we soldiered on to Osceola, Wi to pick up another MB and GPW.

Day 2 started out a little warmer than the late afternoon we pulled in the day before, but it was windy!

So we started at the Richard I Bong Veterans Historic Center, to witness a Flag retirement followed by a Flag raising ceremony. One of our members was asked to participate (his Mother was a Canadian Citizen).

Than it was off to the North Shore, Kitchi Gammi Park (Brighton Beach) than up the scenic bypass to Two Harbors.

Waited on the scenic bypass for a CCKW to join us.

Day 4

Crossing at Pigeon River back into Minnesota.

After picking up our cripple in Grand Portage, Mn.

Must be getting warmer on the North Shore. The bugs are starting to come out, well this one will not be bothering anyone anymore!

Fuel / Rest stop in Tofie, Mn, the Ambulance is getting the best mileage on the trip home.

It figures, just we start to get back into Duluth Area.
