Removing Paint on the Gauge Faces

I am starting to clean up/repair the instrument panel on the truck.
When they quickly repainted the truck, they poorly masked off the gauge glass.
Now I am trying to remove the paint off the glass and metal surrounding.

Can the glass/plastic be purchased separately from the gauges?
Does anyone have any tips/tricks on getting CARC off the gauges?

There's some stuff, available at hobby shops, called Easy Lift Off or Ez Lift Off. Modellers use it to remove paint from plastic models without damaging the plastic. You might want to look into it.
Hope this helps.

Very carefully scrape the paind off with a knife point. Don't go down to the gauge face itself. Finish chipping off the paint with a plastic disposable knife. Get some polishing compound on a soft cloth and rub rub rub. You can do a fairly good job this way. I have been slowly replacing mine with the older gauges with the glass faces. they can be cleaned much easier.

Try "Goof Off" Takes paint off hard wood floors and leaves the finish.
