Removing steel just inside of doors

There was another post about this some time back. It came to light that some rural fire depts removed the metal and ended up with cabs that cracked at the door opening. I tried to find the thread, but couldn't.

I hunted yesterday for an hour for that thread. I remember it specifically because one of the replies was something to the effect of "Tell your fireman to stop being lazy"

I have no idea what happened to it.

Some good thought has gone into thread. Where people go wrong is doing without thinking things through.
