Rifle Mount Redux

Looking through some old threads I couldn't find the info I needed. My dad was cleaning out his shop and came across a mess of rifle mounts. They had the spring clamps, butt mounts and upper stock mounts, but no angle bracket. I was going to see if anyone had some measurements for the angle bracket so I could make one. I don't have an AR to put in it, but I am sure my Mini 14 would look good in there. Thanks

Rifle mount bracket

I actually have a NOS angle bracket that came with my rifle mounts. I mounted all of my mounts individually and thus had no use for it. $15 and its yours if you're interested PM me. If not, no sweat.

If you do decide to make one yourself, I have the spec sheet for the deuce bracket with all the measurements to make one yourself that I can fax to you ( though $15 seems alot easier ) All it takes is a 2" X 14" X 1/8" piece of steel

A few days ago my Army Captain brother (Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan Vet) sent me this TXT: "Any "wants" that u have that can be forfilled thru my military connections for christmas?"

I replied "Don't tease me!" but M16 mounts were on the list I sent back.

His reply: "well we cheap a$$es in the army used a clamp for holding rakes and brooms for m16 holders"

The truck I have came with mounts on each end of the dash.
Here's a photo of the installation.
With a rifle in place, it is a bit difficult getting past it when entering or exiting.

Finally got them in. Being that I don't have any black guns to put in, I had to use what I had. I just can't make up my mind which setup i like best. I didn't realize how good an old Coach gun would look in the deuce8)

Don't see the big deal about RIFLE MOUNTS, when I was in vietnam, if the truck had a mount (only a few)it was never used, if the weapon was needed, the mount was another UNNEEDED delay,
Also a side note, my BIG not being thrilled by GUN RING mounts is that the loaded gun ring trucks where the FIRST targets, right along with the escorts, and non loaded gun ring trucks came in a close second because thay could be loaded REAL quick.

Just my 2cents

No big deal about the mounts, I had them laying around so I put them on. I like to do some woods riding/camping so they will come in handy. I am sure that if I was in a war situation I probably would have my weapon mounted securely in the cab.
