I learned a bit of trivia in my own search that may help others. The elusive "proper" u-bolts that we all have to hunt for came installed (just to fill the otherwise empty holes) in the back panel of many Canadian M211 / M135s. I have also seen them on some of the US trucks. I just collected enough for my ring on a recent trip to British Colombia. Hope this helps! Don
