Good idea to throw the MX-7777 to protect your radios. Plus you'll need the C-2742 should you want to use the remote function of the RT-246. I have my radio mounted under the passenger seat of the deuce and have the c-2742 mounted on the windshield frame. That way I don't have to take my eyes off the road and reach down to change stations.

The MX-7777 and MX-7778s were used in tracked vehicles where there could be large electrical transients as hydraulics and solenoids switched on and off. Those components don't exist in most trucks so the suppressors turn into space eaters without much value other that looking cool. The 7778s were "mini-suppressors" that attached directly to the bottom of the MT-1029 and MT-1898 mounts for the VRC-12 series radios.
