Truck failed to start after starting slow for couple days. Checked batterys and one was about 9 volts. I know alt. was working couple weeks ago because I replace starter due to failure. Had 24 volts going to it but it would do anything.
So when it started to crank slow I thought poss. bad starter. Replace batterys with good batterys and still cranked funny sometimes. Remove cables again and found the terminal to the cable that connect the two battery together was so loose that I should have caught it the first time. Bolts were tight but the crimp on the terminal for the cable was very loose. Recrimped the cable and soldered it and they truck starts so fast now I don't even have to push the button. Be sure to check the terminals and make sure the cable is tight in it. Battery could not be save. Had bad cell.

Another problem I have ran into more than once is.....

The bolt that goes through the terminal gets loose & electricity arches inside (melting a tunnel in the lead). From the outside it looks fine, but once you remove the bolt, you see how big the hole is inside. Simply keeping those bolts TIGHT prevents this from occurring.
