Can you just take the axle out of one side and put a cap in its place for every day around town dive and just put it bake in if you plan to play hard.

Sure you can, I do it all the time. Just for reference, the front drive flange can be bolted on the rear as a cap. I have a pair of front flanges desplined for highway use. I use one of the removed splined flanges on the rear when I pull that axle.

You guys should be able to get your double splined axle shafts from Ouverson.

.... or just pump out your own.... shouldn't be rocket surgery to get someone to cut some coarse splines in some 1 5/8" OD cold rolled, which is what I believe you'd use for stock on those shafts.... 1.62" OD, right?

H R D If you want it you can have it . Shipping is going to be insane though. It weighs a ton. You can even have the levers from the transmission. I finally swapped it out a couple of weeks ago, and it could use a good home. PM me if you are still interested.
