hey everyone i just got my first m35a2 and im starting to fix some things up on it. the manuals on here have helped alot but im having trouble finding out how to set my timing on the truck so i can replace my injection pump which is leaking. im trying to find out how to set the timing of the engine so i can pull the old one off and put the new one back on correctly and also was trying to find how to make sure that the pump is set in the right spot to make it timed right with the engine. any help would be appriciated i have looked through the manuals and i dont know if i am just missing it but i couldnt find it.

You need to read the TM's from cover to cover, esp the engine TM, because it's there! Also look for threads in the deuce forum that talk about the IP. There are at least half a dozen that cover exactly what you are looking for. There are timing marks on the teeth of the gears, however your best bet is to make sure you really have to replace everything before you start tearing into things. You may just need new "O" rings on the hydraulic head (HH) (and that's another term to search on).2cents

that is where it is leaking from right where the head meets the body. so if i got the reseal kit to reseal the injection pump you think its easier to reseal the head rather then switch it out with the other pump that i have? also can that be resealed in the truck or should i take it out to seal it?

If it leaks where the HH meets the body, yes, pull the head and replace the 3 O-rings. You should be good to go.

Also, just an FYI, this is not the correct forum to place your question in. You should post in the "deuce" forums.
