Some background - bought the deuce about two months ago. Was out of town a bit, tried to register in Maryland, then realized it would be better to go with Tennessee as we are moving down there and they have a better grasp of reality at the Tennessee DMV. So the vehicle sat for a while...
Had some electrical problems after leaving my 109 with a local greasy-fingers garage for a couple days. They were supposed to do a Maryland state inspection... bad idea, they had no clue. They managed to flat the batteries, but I got the thing running and brought her back here. A couple of days later the batteries were flat again; I realized I had a short somewhere, so I disconnected the batteries and put on a trickle charger. I jump started once to drive over to Harbor Freight and back, no evident problems.
Finally got back to business today; turned on, air warning was strong, but just a whine when I tried to start. So I tried a jump-start from the car; no dice. Not even turning over. I have looked through all the old threads I could, and it seemed similar to the problem TheOxman is having, but it just doesn't seem like it is quite the same.
I think I have two problems; one is a short somewhere in the system, running down the batteries; the other somewhere in the starter or solenoid. Unless somebody out there has a different idea - could they be different parts of the same problem? I am getting desperate here, as I promised the wife that the beast would help us in the move, and so far it has just slowed things down. Help!
