Soot from exhaust, turbo

I have a M35A3 I think there is an exhaust leak before the muffler on the outside of the truck. Also, there is soot before the turbo that houses the veins. Just wondering if the muffler could be partially plugged and causing both problems?

The exhaust before muffler is leaking soot , could it be from oil or fuel sitting in the e piping , because of long idling time on maneuvers, before I picked it up and drove it 260 miles. I wonder if the never gets up to temp on short trips. Any ideas.

Well, depends. Is the "leak" a wet looking spray or a solid soot streak? There should be no leaks from the turbo to the outlet of the tail pipe. Got a pic so we can see what you are seeing?

looks like a regular old exhaust leak, the one around the turbo housing is the only one i'd be worried about other than it making a mess.
