Spin on fuel

Well I installed a spin on fuel filter because the filter base kept leaking after I had it off twice, I think a small freeze plug was leaking. I was fighting a surge when first started and now it is fixed. I wanted to find a filter with a drain on the bottom but the napa brand filters were all too long. I have heard a lot about the racor filters. How good are they and does napa or carquest stock them? Any suggestions or comments on this change?

If you look into fuel filters for boats you will probably find what you want. They all have a condensation problem so being able to drain off water is SOP. There are different types , some spin the fuel to separate the water out.

Racors seem to have a good name from what I've read. You can get them with water separators & heaters as well. There are plenty of filters which will work with Racor I believe. A 2 micron filter seems to be the ticket as well.
