The studs that hold the front spindles on are they grade 8 or 5? I look around and did not find what I was looking for. Thanks

i am sure they are at least grade 8. i would also be sure to use usa made bolts here.

Correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that grade 5 hasd a higher shear strength. Do you have old bolts? Look at the head of the bolts they will have markings which will tell you.

the higher the number the stronger. 3 marks on head = grade 5, 6 marks = 8, 12 marks = 12

There is no marking on the studs. Grade 8 bolts are brittle and grade 5 will stretch some before breaking. I know grade 8 is not always better.

Just kinda wondering what others were using. Probably will use grade 8 and check them after a while.
