I thought they served two uses. :idea:

One, to keep the trailers from filling up with too much water, exceding their max gross weight rateing when they sat. :wink:

Secondly, to keep the atmospheric pressure equalized as they zipped down the road behind a duce, thereby keeping them from getting airborn while in tow. :roll:

What else could it be :?:
