Some impressions from the recovery. At first we send about 4 parcels to Fehmarn by national post. Sleeping bags, fuel filters , air hoses , tools, torches, etc. because we go by train to Fehmarn and want to go on own wheels back home. Because the engine is air cooled you had to use the installed diesel heater for the cabin in november (about freesing point). So we are prepared on the worst case.
But... long story short, it´s all good.

Have a nice weekend. Thank you voting for Migginsbros this month. Tomorrow they promissed a cloudfree day with temp 70°F. Perhaps we have time to care for the MV´s.

Cloudfree Day. Maybe on your side of the world...

Unfortunately on the East Coast the plan is rain and possible thunderstorms on Friday night and Saturday out beyond lunchtime. We will be "wet testing" anything recently repaired ;-) It has rained every Saturday for the past 5 weeks.

Nice presentation Chris!
Looking forward to more stories about the MANN Kat

Sounds good Chris, we're at the MVCC event at Plymouth, CA where it will be 78 and partly cloudy tomorrow. No thunderstorms here or other nasty weather.

Having recently adopted this young HMMWV, I thought that the two of us needed some quality time to bond. And there’s no better way to do that than going on a camping trip. So we hitched-up the tent and hit the road.

I mentioned that this girl is tough. She pulled that tent like a champ!

As luck would have it, we met several other campers on that trip. It was amazing! There were big trucks and not so big trucks. We even saw armor!!!

And oh my goodness, we even met another tan truck!!! The young HMMWV was just over the moon!

Conversation at our dinner table last night turned to the question of what’s your favorite holiday.

On a quick side note, we had to relocate our dining room table to the garage now that we have a young HMMWV living at home.

So back to our conversation… It should come as no surprise that “Take Your HMMWV To Work Friday” was our favorite holiday. In my humble opinion, it is not celebrated widely enough. I’m working an a national lobbying campaign to make it a federal holiday. If successful here in the States, I’ll branch out to Europe next.

We all know that MVs are herd animals. What may be somewhat of a lesser known fact is that some MVs have a jealous streak.

Not long after we adopted the HMMWV (and it started consuming a lot of my attention), the Deuce decided to throw a temper tantrum….

After that, (dare I say) the Deuce just wouldn’t stop!

Alright Folks! Help right my world and vote for the HMMWV!

Well finally got back from my trip and finally got some pictures to upload!!!! Here is the new to me and @swiss's mk23 mtvr. We were looking for a mtvr and was able to find one relatively close (300 miles away in Florida). We hopped in the truck and rode down there and took a good look at the truck and we were sold on it. The weapons platform is a nice touch!

Before we could leave we had to load up all the extra parts and pieces the seller had like extra 3rd members, bows, cover, and more. Had to get a picture of swiss next to it because the size is just crazy how big these things are!

On our way home we picked up 2 extra mtvr wheels and tires along with 5 new 395s on mrap wheels. In total I think we had 11 tires in the bed.

Got him home and unloaded the tires. Love the truck with the c12 and jake brakes makes diving in traffic a dream. SUPER smooth acceleration and ride quality with the independent suspension. I wish I could share with you all the exiting news on why we bought the truck and project we are working on but it is not far enough along yet. Happy voting on the last few days!

As usual we also like meetings with other enthusiasts. These pics are from a meeting named historical construction plant. First pic shows our father in the turret. Next meeting we will attend is at May 13.

Some impressions.

Real fun for all. On the way we had stopped at the local beverages shop to get some cold one. :jumpin:

This pic shows the normal position of the bows and canopy. For train transport you have to go lower the canvas . Lowest row of hooks.

Thank you for voting for the MAN KAT 1 this month.(y)

The Kat 1 engine of the 5ton 4x4 is an aircooled V8 Deutz engine. If temperatures below -25°C / -8°F it´s recommended to use the preheat unit. With switching the Diesel cabin heater to a very high output and installing the heater hose you directly bring the heat into the crankcase and to the batterie compartment.
It´s not allowed to use the very high output function to heat the cabin due to damages on interieur and windscreen.
