I met a guy who was in 54th Engineers, in Bamberg. He did not seem to be firing on all jugs. One day we were sitting in Burger King and he told me, with an incredible amount of pride, that he had been blown up in 4 road side bombings. Things became clearer then.

Even if you drive in a extremely well protected vehicle, suddenly getting blown up must leave big but invisible scars and make you jumpy.
