Hi all! I'm new to the CUCV world. Bought an '86 last month. It's a great truck and in good condition. Starts right up, even when its 20 degrees

- I am having a steering issue i'm hoping to get some insite into. When driving straight and correcting to the left, something seems to bind and then the vehicle moves drastically to the left and you must correct.
- I took the steering dampener off and drove it, same issue.
- Checked the pitman arm and the tie rods. No play in them.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I second the axle shaft u-joints. I drove a 1008 that would not turn, and then would lurch to the direction you wanted to go.

Pulled the axle shaft out and it would not flex in any direction. Ended up doing both sides.

Hope this helps
