What is the definition of "Non tactical vehicle"? I'm guessing the M1009 would be used as a military grocery getter?

Non tactical vehicles are commercial type vehicles such as pick-ipd, vans, sedans etc that are used foir administrative purposes. Also called "tmp"s for transportation motor pool vehicles. Tactical vehicles have blackout lights and other adaptions for field use: M35, m 108, m1009, m 151, m 37 are are tactical vehicles.

Spent a lot of time on Fort Drum and numerous other military installations. Typically, NTV's were not allowed off base for errands. So, claiming/marking a vehicle as NTV kind of made off base use a little more acceptable. Kind of a grey area, but btdt....
