Tail light question

I feel stupid for not knowing (or remembering...) I retired from as an Ordnance NCO just a "few" years ago.

Will the metal style taillight lense fit correctly on a plastic housing military tail light?
I thought that for some reason they wouldn't, but I can't remember why. I know in my old PLL we carried both, 'cause we carried such an eclectic bunch of equipment .

I've been looking for some nice metal style lights that won't cost an arm+leg, only found plastic versions so far.

Housings are different, so you would need the entire unit, not just the outer cover.


Keep an eye on eBarf, occasionally they go cheap.
