taking off cylinder head necessary

Is it necessary to take off the cylinder head just to make sure a glow plug head isn't in there. I got my m1028 from gov liquidation, took it for test drive and parked it. No more than 30 minutes of running. Found out my transmission case was cracked. So i started taking out my glow plugs and replace the relay and put a push button in it for glow plugs. I got all of the glow plugs out but 2. 1 on the drivers side, took out the injector, shop vac it out, put it all back together with no problems. Got started on the passenger side, i took the glow plug terminal out, did not hear the glow plug head fall or move around and did not feel as if it was attached. Took the injector out, did not see it like i did the one on the drivers side. Tried to use the shop-vac, did not work, made sure the piston was all the way up. Used a coat hanger to feel anything in there, nothing. I know the precumbustion isn't very big and the hole for the fuel is barely big enough for a coat hanger to fit through. What do i need to do? Thanks

Since you could not find any evidence of it, I would just forget about it for a while. Drive the vehicle for a while and then check again, maybe it is logged somewhere and will break free? If it is not there it probably has disintegrated.

If you did not feel the tip break off and the glow plug came right out, the tip was most likely burned off from either the military or GL starting the vehicle on starting fluid. Run it if it did not surface or make noise in the 30 min. you had the truck running its most likely gone.
