Testing a GP relay and control card

So my buddy who helped me with the IP install has a M1008 he's stripped down. Basically he's just using the body. He put in a 350 gasser, going to refinish in blue, etc. Got it out of a salvage yard where the windows were broken out and rained in, etc. So he has a GP relay and a GP controller he's given me. Wondering if there's a way to test their functionality without installing them on my currently running great M1009. I'd like to keep them as spares if they still work. Any insight?

The relay is easy to test. Use a meter and see is the coil is good. next, Apply voltage to the coil and see if the contacts are good also.

There is no way to test a controller card, other than to install it and see if it works.
