This truck now starts and runs great. It is also tagged, registered, insured and street legal. When I got it the truck ran but the throttle did not work and had to be jump started. I made many repairs and replaced several parts which I have listed below. This truck has turned into a build.
Replaced one battery (the other one was new already)
Installed two brand new steer tires
Repaired multiple air leaks in the air system
Repaired a few fuel leaks.
Got a spare tire
Changed the oil and filters with quality Shell Rotella and filters.
Repaired the stuck throttle from sitting
Flipped the rear hubs and dualed the truck out. (It was set up for singles)
Installed both passenger and driver suspension seats.
Replaced leaking radiator and coolant hoses.
Installed a license plate bracket
I know there are others repairs and parts I have replaced but that is all I can remember right now.
I also have and plan to install a brand new factory pre-bent main fuel line to replace the hacked and bent one. I have a 24V tag light I hope to have installed in the next couple of days. I also have a third seat I plan to add so we can travel in the deuce as a family.
The best thing about this project is I am getting just about all the parts I need for little to nothing. I am wheeling and dealing with stuff I do not need. So, even though Burt is for sale, the truck has come a long way and I have grown quite fond of the old guy.
