The FDC and Cold Starts

Wasn't sure if this was common knowledge, but when there's zero fuel supply pressure, the FDC control goes to a "full rich" position to provide maximum available fuel delivery during cranking for engine starts. So...your engines with the FDC hooked up might start better in the cold than those of us who have them bypassed.

Not really. With it bypassed, you are in "full open" to begin with. All the FDC does is cut fuel to the IP to maintain a constant HP from different fuels.

Thats why when some folks by-pass the FDC, they need to turn the fuel down.
