Throttle response

I just changed out clutch and pressure plate on the deuce.
Previosly the deuce was sitting in driveway for 3-4 months I'd start it periodically with no issues. Now it is very hard to start and I have no throttle response, I have to hold the throttle to make the rpm's rise.
I am getting ready to go thru the grounds now on the truck.

Anything else I should look for???

Thanks

It will idle but I have to pull out hand throttle to about 1,000rpm
The engine will also race (increase rpm's)

Had replaced filters 3 months prior
So I let her idle for an hour or so, watching cylinder temps via infrared gun. Well good news all is fine now. I did put a half a can of sea foam and 2 water drier in the 3/4 full tank. I also dumped all 3 filter in case of water.
Thanks for the quick responses, time to throw the 395s on!!!
