There is a offical document that states these meet or exceed federal
motor vehicle safety standards . But what y’all got allows y’all to title them so it’s good in my eyes . Our state omv did not care about the government document stating it met requirements . They did not care

Update....... The DFA has sort of changed their stance and released a new opinion on Humvee titling/registration. Here is the pdf of it.
The letter from the state attorney is dated April - is this still the current position of the state? Is anyone actively working on drafting MV legislation?

The new opinion, yes. And yes to the actively working on drafting MV legislation. We plan on it for the next legislative session which starts next year. There was an attempt back in 2013 but there wasn't much support. This time there is a lot more support.

I don't think that we will get anything done this session. Sorry guys. They did change their opinion and they are titling Humvees that are 25 yrs or older.

No real update. They can't refuse to title it if it has been titled in another state and you are transferring it. You should contact your legislators and explain what is happening. They should be able to help you out until we can get a permanent fix.
any update on title and tags for arkansas?

Nothing. I never got any traction to tackle this last legislative session. I haven't heard of anyone having issues as of late.
