I don't knoww if this question has been asked yet. I was wondering will a civilian tow bar hook up to the tow points on the bumper of the M1008? Sorry if this question has been asked. I've seen one at Pep Boys and I was wondering will that one be sufficent? I can either tow mine back from Barstow or get my brother in law to pick it up with his flatbed, if he isn't too busy.

Check the tow rating on the civi towbar. Most I've seen are rated at 5000# so you will probably be above that limit by a little.

Probably not. Civilian tow bars have their own connection points that you have to install on the vehicle. In addition, as stated before, they are not all rated to tow a full size truck so make sure your bar has the capacity required.
