Trans light

on my M1123 the trans shifted but the light stayed on, problem was the RPM sensor on the front timing cover was not connected. without that signal to the TCM, trans light stayed on and the torque converter defaulted into lock up. suggest checking the sensor and connections.

open extra port on front of TCM (under left rear seat).
Bend a paperclip and stick the ends into A and E. One of the other holes is hot, so aim good.
Get pen and paper.
Turn start switch to run position, watch light. It will blink a series of numbers. Write them down. It will do each code 3 times.
it will blink 1-2-1-2-1-2. That is 12, codes will blink next, if any. Then follow with 1-2-1-2-1-2, then repeat again.
If the engine is cold, you can unplug the TSU or GPC to stop the glow plugs from warming up.
Tell us what codes you get.

I did that before replacing the relay and it gave me normal codedso I replaced the relay and I still get the trans light when ignition is off.

trans C/B always has power...
Relay : 1 goes to 57 which is ground
2 is 29 which is switched on buy run switch.
3 is 290c to trans light which S/B off with run sw off.
4 is 290 d or B , [ drawing blurred ] always hot from C/B direct to batt. +12vdc
