transfer case fill plug removal

Is there a special tool to remove the 30 mm plugs on the transfer case of the M1008? I cant get it with a socket. Its on there pretty tight, and the head of the plug is very thin.

I'll have to take your word that it's 30mm, but a 6 point socket, or closed end wrench is you best bet. You really don't want to do the channel locks thing if you can help it, because as you said it's ah pretty thin head.

Soaking with PB Blaster penetrating oil and optional some heat may help if rusted tight. Mark

I had a 10" crescent wrench that when opened all the way would fit the plug snugly enough for me remove it.

I use an adjustable crescent wrench.
