Transfer Case PTO Installation Question

There is an oil line fitting coming out of the transfer case pto that faces towards the cab when installed, what does line that comes off that fitting connect to? The manual on cd (fig 14 pg 37 of 52) shows the line going off somewhere, but to where I don't know. I also have a section of what I believe is the oil line that is supposed to connect to that fitting, but they won't screw into each other, different sizes. The section of oil line came with the transfer case pto.

That line goes to the drain on the transfer case. When running the PTO a pump draws oil from the sump of the transfer case to lube the top of same. I't s a standard tpe steel line.
